The Long Goodbye

In keeping with my generally cheery outlook on life, The Long Goodbye is an ode to the binary state of being: every second alive brings us a second closer to death. Within that notion, hope and optimism live alongside the raw futility of the facts. And as everything we do will end sooner than later, we continue to create…to reach both forward and back as both realities fuel eachother. Hope and death spring eternal.

German arthouse bullshit aside, Dark Mickey was slated to march down the route in his giant wooden hampster wheel as the endless sperm/snake battle graphic circled him. Upon coming to the realization that a solid 20′ wooden wheel wasn’t something that would be practical to build or transport in Brooklyn, the wood was replaced with the idea of a giant inflatable. 1 sleepless week of experimentation, painting, welding plastic, and inhaling mind-destroying chemicals later, the inflatable baby was born and whisked to her Soho stage. 15 minutes later it popped and a delirious Mickey walked alone. You can’t write that kind of perfection.
